Message from First Indiana Company Governor Gellert
Greetings friends! It is my pleasure to serve you as your Indiana Jamestowne Society Governor for the next two years. Undoubtedly we are all very proud of our family connections to early Jamestowne. With each new discovery we gain better understanding of our families who founded and influenced the development of our great country! Our Indiana Company continues to grow steadily, with membership currently standing at 43 registered members with the National Jamestowne Society. Last year we proudly added a new auxiliary category, Friends of the Indiana Company, consisting of family members and those who are working fervently to prove their lineage to Jamestowne Qualified Ancestors. For
those working diligently to this end, please know we have members who will be happy to help when you hit a brick wall in your search. We’ve all been there! With each spring we look forward to our April Indiana Company Luncheon. I sincerely hope that most of you will join us on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the University Club of Indianapolis. Accomplished author and global speaker from Boston, Dr. David Baeckelandt, will deliver our keynote on Flemish and Dutch Craftsmen of Early Jamestowne. More information follows in this newsletter. The event promises to be outstanding! If able to travel to Virginia, you won’t want to miss our national Luncheon on May 20, 2017, in Williamsburg. Dr. William Kelso, head archeologist at Jamestowne, is featured speaker, worldrenowned for his archelogical work on Jamestowne Island. More information on this event follows in this newsletter. Looking forward to another great year!
